After a challenging year for most of us, we can't wait to celebrate Halloween in style with our little ones. For us, Halloween is as much about the treats and family times, as it is about the 'tricks', so we've put together 5 things that the whole family can enjoy this spooky season.
Visiting your local pumpkin patch is not only a fab photo opportunity for you and your family to cherish for years to come, it also teaches your little ones where food comes from - and you get to take a pumpkin home with you! Who doesn't love buying a pumpkin as big as your head (or even your old baby bump!)
This is just as much fun for the grown ups as it is for the kids, and what often starts out as a family activity can quickly turn into a competition of who is the best carver.
Some of our top tips when carving with children include:
- 1) Be prepared - Get an old table cloth to cover the floor as it does get messy. Better still, pop on our Halloween Special Edition Coverall and keep their clothes clean and dry!.
- 2)Take the top of the pumpkin off yourself, and then hand your little one a spoon so that they can get stuck in removing the gunky insides.
- 3) Carve the shape that you want using a stencil, then ask your little one to pop out the shapes.
Or equally good fun, let your little one loose with the paints, and get them to paint their pumpkin.
A party with your household can be so much fun especially in current times. Just pop on some kid friendly Halloween music, pop a disco ball on, light your pumpkins and enjoy a party game or two.
Head to our Family Hub for some Halloween activity and game inspo we even have a Halloween playlist for your little monsters to boo-gie to.
Making ‘perfect’ food art can seem daunting but it doesn't need to be! I am the least creative person when it comes to mealtimes but the most important part is to have fun with your little helpers.

I think that we can all agree that getting messy certainly scares some of us more than Halloween but it is important to let our curious little ones get involved!
Our top messy tasks that don’t make us scream include:
Painting with yohurt, jelly hunt or even a themed sensory tray all of which can be found over at our Family Hub.
